Our Mission

Disability Rights New Jersey's mission is to protect, advocate for and advance the rights of persons with disabilities in pursuit of a society in which persons with disabilities exercise self-determination and choice, and are treated with dignity and respect.

Disability Rights New Jersey's activities are grounded in its belief in the inherent value and worth of all individuals and their right to equality of opportunity and full participation in their communities.

Disability Rights New Jersey launched DRNJ-COVID.org, with the purpose of illuminating policies impacting individuals with disabilities, established during the COVID-19 pandemic. This site is dedicated solely to sharing our response to COVID-19, the actions we’ve taken to protect and advocate, and most importantly, to provide answers to questions, enabling individuals with disabilities and their caregivers to educate themselves on the issues at the forefront of this crisis.

Please read a letter from our Executive Director, Gwen Orlowski about our dedicated work to ensure the well-being of individuals with disabilities during the time of this COVID-19 crisis.
